Reason Remoter

Roland MCR8 MIDI Codec

This is just the Remote Codec, it does not include any Remote map file.

It is designed to work with the MCR8 set on MIDI option 4, where all controls are sent on MIDI channel 16.

The remote control names are listed below:

  • Channel 1 Pot
    (1 to 16, where 1-8 are bank A while 9-16 are bank B)
  • Channel 1 Button A
(1 to 16, where 1-8 are bank A while 9-16 are bank B, these are the top row of buttons)
  • Channel 1 Button B

Please note, switching between bank A and bank B, with the buttons on the MCR8 only switch the bank of 8 pots, buttons and faders and doesn’t affect the master, function, direction or transport controls.

Also note that this codec does not have any soft takeover, so you will get jumps in values when switching between devices.
